Watch me talking with guest host Thomas Roberts about how conservatives in Congress are willing to blow up our entire economy to make a political point about their anti-government agenda.

This country is very fortunate that vast majority of the people are intelligent enough to know when a hemorrhaging crisis needs immediate attention and resolution (the deficit & national debt). Sally Kohn can not be serious. It is quite apparent that her ideologies are as unrealistic as ‘Alice in Wonderland’.
I completely agree pjb1277. I just heard her try to defend why allowing another stimulus would somehow fix the economy. R u crazy. Where is the proof that these stimulus/bailouts have helped the economy. NO! Private sector jobs have helped. And the more these liberals and dems want to sock it to businesses by creating more regulations, higher taxes, etc. the more they are going to continue to sit on their money instead of using it. I.E. Amazon just chose not to do business w/ CT sellers because of a amazon tax that the CT implemented. Not only are we loosing businesses left and right from our state, we are now losing online business opportunities. I get that you want to help the middle and poor classes, but running businesses out of states is not the answer. Spending more and more money from a gov’t that doesn’t have the money to spend is what is creating the economic instability. Why would corporations want to risk hiring more people, or investing money, when the gov’t continues to make economic risks. Stop blaming the rich, the businesses, and bush, for god sakes and realize that these bailouts and spending are not helping!!!
Who do I listen to. All media experts and think-tank people have written a book and/or make their living from defending or attacking issues they comment upon. Prejudice results. We need a Congressional Evaluation Office like the CBO to investigate deficits, bio fuels, economic returns from education, the actual threats from terrorist and degree our spending reduces these threats,, amount of safety we get from military spending per dollar spent over different levels of expenditure, … I don’t mind military spending, but when does diminishing utility come into play. At 67, age is going to kill me or make for an unhappy existence and I would like to move some to medical research, and the way I drive, highway safety. Maybe the GAO could do it?
Absolutely correct. The only difference in the Middle East terrorist and the republican terrorist, is geography. Republicans have been trying to break the back of Medicare and Social Security from day one. One sure way to do that is to drain the treasury every chance you get. Hence, perpetual wars and tax cuts. Every safety net We the People have is under attack as “the cause” of the deficit. Case in point, Joplin. Republicans want to barter a deal to deliver assistance to that ravaged community. “We’ll give you the money once Democrats tell where we can cut”. Here’s a place to start, the safety nets you refuse to discuss that favor your rich corporate cronies, end the bush tax cuts, subsidies, end the wars, tax the countries resources being drained by big oil, regulate big Pharma, put a single payer health care system in place. They’re more, but why labor the point.
Not only is this game Republicans are playing amounts to Russian Roulette, the fact that idiots like Trump and Palin put themselves forth as viable leaders of this country is enough to make other countries look at America as a liability. The President and the Democrats need to make this case and make it over and over and clearly and they are not. For one thing they’re hampered by two soft-spoken people occupying offices which need fire-brands. Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi are not effective speakers whatsoever. Whatever other skills they possess, they just don’t “sell” what needs to be sold. OMFG already.
