Not until we were fighting in WWII!!
You are so incredibly stupid. What was happening in the early/mid 40′s? WwII. As I’ve mentioned to you several times, stick to social issues because your economic comments are always 100% wrong. When you go to sleep at night I guarantee that you know more government, more taxes and more control over the citizenry is wrong.
You mean like we have two or more wars going now??? Your refusal to acknowledge how government HAS helped Americans throughout history is not only naive but, frankly, flies in the face of the Founders intent in creating government in the first place.
Not only were we fighting the war we were paying the Soviets and the British war bill, then we paid to rebuild Europe, and if you for one second want to compare the size and scope of our current conflicts to WWII you are completely hopeless, there is no comparison we were a nation on rations the government was fighting for Democracies survival today we spend on wasteful government projects. It is the citizens of this country that have made it great and the greatest service and Frankly the only service the government has provided is security, the only programs you progressives want to cut funding for.
Wrong. The govt gave land away to robber barons to build their railroads and mines, for which they never taxed them until 1913. The govt gave homesteaders land to start the mid-west middle class. Unions stared the urban middle class. Govt created electricity generation in New Deal which was privatized to monopolies, who are now screwing us. “Security” as you say only opened up foreign markets for those robber barons. And today they pay no taxes for those services in return, while US families languish. JPMorgan’s mines in Afghanistan will give the next generations of those families their champaign profits, while your grandchildren languish under the myths you carry in your head about “democracy” and WWII. Afghanistan alone cost $3T. The entire cold war cost $7T we paid for GE and the Military contractors. NY And London bankers loaned money to Germany through 1920s to build up GE, IBM, IG Faben there…They created that war, and when they were ready they created Hitler too with their money in 1932. Then as now they are not putting their money behind centrists. Only now it is in the US this time they play their nasty game. Wake up chumps! You’re taking us all down with you as long as you defend these people’s interests who have nothing in common with you!
You should probably stick to a subject you know something about. The country at that time was in the midst of rebuilding Europe and Japan, private debt was not nearly as high as it is today and more importantly the national debt was mainly held by Americans and not by Foreign States. Furthermore, we had an industrial base that was fully operational and we still had a modicum of fiat pegged to gold, also our Fed fund rates were not at zero.
“we” had an industrial base? The family offices who owned this country then as now still have an industrial base, in China! They profited from all that tax spending to “rebuild” Europe after blowing it up with Brit and American bankers’ dollars for German industry from 1920s to 1930s financing the build up. It is Peter robbing Paul, and snowing us into believing he is a good guy. Difference is, then they paid much higher real percentage tax rates to get their profits out of the rest of us. Today capital gains are 15%. Effective corporate tax rates for these “persons” is 0%. Is your person’s effective rate 0%?
Well back then the family offices who owned this country Morgan, Rockefeller, Mellon, Kuhn-Loeb, Dupont were profiting amazingly from war materiel! and the world was going to be their oyster. They needed US workers to make it so, so they appeased us with labor movement stuff they have now reversed as needed. They don’t need us anymore. They do want to mine the rest of this country to export to China, India, Brazil.
