You are correct the American public is not stupid and we can see the clear incompetence of President Obama and Democrats and Liberals.

The commentary is great.  Demonization is now the accepted format of political discourse or what passes for discourse.   You can’t have a rational discussion about economic inequality; instead, it has to be about “no increase in taxes” or some other shibboleth.  You can’t have a rational discussion about entitlements without risking a charge that you’re undermining senior citizens.   The problems have become so complex that it is easier and more politically viable to reduce them to a slogan and campaign on it.   OWS is indeed deeply frightening but so was the effort to change health care or address global warming.  We’ve delayed for so long in addressing problems that significant or radical change is inevitable and that scares people, leaving them vulnerable.  Slogans simply become an easier way to cope.

In 1944, 20 yr olds gave everything; in 2011, OWS 20 yr olds want everything.  You’re on the wrong track

Your comment that the “American public is not stupid” is right on target. I know with absolute certanity that Obama’s first priority when elected was to cram Obama care down the throats of Americans even in defiance on overwhelming public dislike. He and the Democrats accomplished this and I will never support anything he proposes. You promote social secutiey as an entitlement but it is not. Social security was a viable program until the Texas jerk LBJ convinced congress to move the funds from a trust fund into the general fund pool. Ever since both parties have used it as a piggy bank. If CONGRESS had not raided the Social Security Funds there would be a 63 TRILLION DOLLAR surplus today.
