The media insider website Mediaite picked up on my debate with Michelle Malkin yesterday. Here’s my favorite part of the piece:

“You’re a coward,” Malkin said.

“I’m not entirely sure I know how to respond,” Kohn replied. She apologized to Malkin but her apology was rejected. “I’m a naïve idealist who believes in America that we can uphold the tradition of our founders that we can disagree with each other,” said Kohn.

Hannity did say that Malkin should accept Kohn’s apology, but she refused. “This is all kabuki theater,” said Malkin. “She’s not going to be happy until we are all completely politically and ideologically lobotomized and only speak in dulcet tones the way that NPR hosts do.”

So where’s the original article that set Malkin off ??
Listening to Malkin in the radio piece, you could tell Kohn made her point. Mallkin was seething.
    Truly seething.

Hannity trying to get Kohn to say the President called Bush irresponsible or whatever it was, was nuts. Obama was clearly talking about the policies, not the person.

That seems to be where conservatives have a disconnect. They can’t stand disagreement and certainly not criticism without them feeling so insecure as to lash out with name calling.

Kohn made her point? Really? How so? The discussion between Kohn and Malkin was heated, but civil. Kohn lost because she has no substance to back up her smug assertions.

Actually “Me”, Malkin made Sally’s point for her, by claiming the right never gets personal while doing exactly that. You don’t actually expect a Fox News liberal to back up her own assertions, do you?
I must say kudos to the whole cast. This was reality show acting at its finest. Everyone knew their part and played it to a tee. Sally, you were particularly good as the inept Rachel Maddow stand-in punching bag. The way you failed to provide an example of the incivility that you came on the show to discuss, even after someone mentioned Sandra Fluke, was sublimely brilliant.

    Exactly right.

  4. Nan says:

That was directed at the statement made by “me”

    Khon has no substance

I think it’s interesting that the right keeps borrowing catchphrases like “Kabuki theater” from liberal bloggers. It’s probably one of Saul Alinsky’s tactics.

Recently, Bill Maher, someone who most liberals consider a strong Liberal voice and who donated 1 million dollars to Obama’s re-election campaign make some very nasty and frankly demeaning comments regarding American exceptionalism, along with some jokes about the Mormon faith being a “stupid religion”, calling America (a country that made him a millionaire) “stupid” and jokes about Jesus being American. You can hear the comments here in case your bloggers want to hear for themselves:

Now, I expect the majority of the responders on this blog to make stupid and lewd comments based on what I experienced a few days ago, so I’m going to ignore them. However, my question is after the discussion you had with Hannity and Michelle Malkin last week, and the issue raised about how the Right is always attacked about things they say but no one seems to notice the ones Bill Maher, Joy Behar and other folks on the Left say, why there is no mention about this on your site….unless you consider him just a “comedian” and think it’s okay….
