Why do Gay people have to ” be humanized”? Are you trying to say its not human to be attracted to ones own sex? Don’t get upset! just saw your article and decided to ask a question?
Steve, not offended at all. Gay people are, of course, human and yes, it is human to be attracted to someone of the same sex. But in the piece to which you refer, I was arguing that gay folks / the gay community needs to be “humanized” in part because anti-gay forces have so viciously dehumanized us for decades — with slanderous portrayals and misrepresentations, to put it mildly. That clarify it?
