I’m on vacation, but as most people are, struck by the verdict in the Zimmerman trial. Here are some brief thoughts:
Is no wonder black men and boys fear from vigilantes and the law alike. Where there is no justice, there is no peace.
Marissa Alexander got 20 years in FL prison for firing warning shots at her abusive husband. But Zimmerman walks?
Pray for an America not where future Zimmermans aren’t acquitted but where future Trayvons aren’t shot in the first place.
Also, if you read nothing else, please absorb every word of this piece by Ta-Nehesi Coates who is a national treasure beyond compare.
