Dominque Strauss-Kahn Released, Housekeeper “Credibility” Questioned - story
What about DSK’s credibility — repeatedly accused of sexual assault by multiple women?  Now we’re supposed to believe that the sexual encounter between the powerful head of the IMF and a maid in his hotel room was fully consensual?  I know it’s hard to believe an African immigrant hotel maid (demeaned along side the “Lyin’ African in the White House”), but it’s still highly possible she’s telling the truth.

Obama Twitter @TownHall Tomorrowstory
Sure hope that account doesn’t get hacked.  Meanwhile, suggested line for @BarackObama: “It takes more than 140 characters to explain the economic mess we’re in — and more than 4 years to clean it up.”

Mitt Romney, Giant Flip Flopvideo
Just in time for summer!  Romney is covering up his previously-held fairly liberal viewpoints about as well as a South Beach thong covers up, well, anything.  Now, after saying on camera that Obama made the economy worse, Romney is saying he didn’t say that.  That heat wave you’re experiencing is Romney’s hot air.

Conservatives Agree: GOP Losing Debt Fightstory
It feels tedious to turn a fight about our nation’s future economic solvency into political theater, but there it is.  And according to conservatives from David Brooks to Bruce Bartlett, the Republicans are the bad actors.  As I said on The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell last week, Republicans are “ideological terrorists” willing to destroy our future to gain partisan points.  The President should stand firm that America does not negotiate with ideological terrorists.

Jews Still Kvelling Over Obamapoll
The vast majority of American Jews don’t want a president who naively coddles Israel — but who strategically coaxes both sides to the table to negotiate peace.  And we like him because he’s not a Muslim.

Yes, these men are bad apples. Rotten, really. But what we have to confront is that they’re not exceptions to the rule but examples of it. Sexual assault of women occurs every second in every corner of the globe, itself a heinous magnification of the sort of demeaning treatment to which most women are subtly or not so subtly subjected every day.
